Technical Information

Fabrication Overview

All Techniko steel doors are fully fabricated in-house with a priority on security, build quality and longevity. We pride ourselves on using high quality materials, sourced within the UK, which we believe supersede many other steel doors available on the market. Feel free to download our steel door technical information guide at the bottom of the page.

Door Leaf and Frame

Manufactured from galvanised steel sections throughout with the internal and external skins manufactured from 2mm galvanised steel sheet and welded (NOT folded).

The leaves are insulated using Rockwool RW5 40mm thick with a minimum 100kg/m3 density. In safety critical areas such as schools and public entrances, we offer a round stile section integrated into the fabrication of the doors to allow for an anti-finger trap arrangement.

All doors are supplied with the appropriate seals to ensure weather proofing and improve thermal and acoustic performance as standard.

Optional Extras

A full range of design extras are available such as a fanlight, sidescreen, access control, automation, louvre panels/doors, vision panels, kick plates and strip glazing.

Finishing Touches

Once our doors have gone through a rigorous fabrication process, they are given a final polish and then fully polyester powder coated to any RAL or BS colour. The complete range of architectural coatings gives an excellent durability as well as colour retention to the door. Finishes available include matt, gloss, satin and special finishes such as metallic (subject to availability).

When an additional level of paint protection is required, we can offer a marine grade powder coated finish to contribute towards the prevention of any degradation of the door from severe atmospheric conditions, commonly found in locations close to the sea.

Finally, if a powder coated finish is not what you're after, our doors are also available in a stainless steel finish which offer a highly desirable aesthetic finish with an excellent level of protection.
